POWGEN for comparing structure factors
with input powder patterns
The graphical interface to the new (exceedingly
alpha) Xtal program POWGEN is shown. Powder patterns in a
range of formats are read by the equally new program ADDPAT. ADDPAT
creates a .pat file suitable for POWGEN, where it can be visually
compared with a calculated pattern based on your current
structure.
POWGEN is not a powder indexing, phase
identification or Rietveld refinement program. It simply provides a
means for clarifying whether your current known structure matches
your measured powder pattern, subject to a limited number of
adjustable parameters.
